Getting Started with Classwize Teacher Portal
Overview
Classwize is a classroom management platform that provides teachers the ability to view student screens, lockdown online access to only specific resources, pause class internet access, and review classroom online activity for students in their class. All district computers used by students are configured for Classwize activity monitoring with logged activity and additional options for access restriction available to teachers through the Classwize Teacher Portal.
Access the Portal
Follow these steps to sign into the Classwize Teacher Portal:
- Go to https://go.kpbsd.org/classwize
- Enter your E# and password (same one used to sign into district computers and most other services) in the Username and Password field.
- Select Sign-In.
Note: Do not use the Sign in with Google option. This will allow you to sign in; however, you will not have access to any of your classes.
Customize Classes Displayed
-
Rename Classes: All class sections linked to your teacher account in PowerSchool will be displayed on the My Classes dashboard when you first sign into the Classwize Teacher Portal. The names listed for each one of these classes are programmatically generated based on data such as period or course name, but you can manually set an alternative for each name that may be easier to read. For each class tile, there is a paper/pencil icon on the bottom right. You can select this button to use the Rename Class function and set any custom class name you would like displayed.
-
Pin Frequently Used Classes: Selecting the pin icon at the top right of any class tile will pin the class to the top of your My Classes dashboard. This is a helpful for quickly accessing the specific classes you need in the future.
-
Combine Classes: If you have multiple class sections that are scheduled in overlap, you can combine them into one Classwize class for simplified management. To do this, click the Combine Classes button at the top right of the dashboard and follow the steps as prompted.
Start a Class
To view student activity and control online access for students in your class, you must first start the specific class section in Classwize you want to monitor and define the duration for which the monitoring will be active.
- From your Classwize Teacher Portal, select the class section that is actively under your instruction you want to monitor.
- Select the Start Class button at the top left corner of the screen.
- Specify a time the class will be ending and select Start.
