Disable Unwanted Notifications on a Windows PC
This article illustrates how to manage unwanted notifications in Windows.
Unwanted notifications
Notifications in Windows come from "senders", which can include both locally-installed applications and websites you visit. Sometimes a website will insinuate itself as a "sender" and start sending you notifications you don't want:
An example like this doesn't really indicate a problem with your computer; it's just scare-ware trying to drive you to a sales site. And you can suppress the sender it if you encounter it.
Managing notification senders in Settings
Open the Notifications panel by clicking on the icon to the far right of the System Tray, and click Manage notifications at the top of the panel.
This opens up the Settings app to Notifications & actions, where you can scroll down to the section Get notifications from these senders. From here, you can disable specific notification senders on your computer.
