Voicemail Audio Does Not Work in iOS Outlook Application

When using the Outlook application on an Apple iOS device (iPhone or similar), voicemail messages do not play properly. Messages appear to be playing, but no audio is heard.

Workaround

Toggle the physical "silent mode" switch on the side of the phone. The Outlook application is errantly muting playback if the phone itself is in silent mode.
