Clicking a Teams Meeting Join Link Opens Teams But Does Not Connect to Meeting

If Microsoft Teams opens when clicking a Join Meeting link in an email or calendar invite, but does not connect you to the meeting, try connecting to the meeting using the procedure below.

Workaround

Step 1:

Right-click the Click here to join the meeting link and select Copy Hyperlink

Step 2:

Open Google Chrome, and paste the clipboard into the address bar by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl-V. Press Enter once the address is pasted into the address bar.

Step 3:

When prompted, click Open Microsoft Teams

Step 4:

Microsoft Teams will open and connect to the meeting
